The automatic coupling device, commonly known as “self-coupling” (or “self-coupling device”), is a mechanism designed for the automatic docking of the discharge flange of a submersible sewage pump with the outlet pipeline system. It consists of the submersible pump’s discharge flange, additional coupling flange, and the inlet flange of the outlet pipe. The automatic coupling device is typically used for sewage pumps, as these pumps are installed below the liquid level where the water quality is often poor. It facilitates maintenance because personnel cannot directly access the area below the sump for repairs. The system, designed to address maintenance challenges, is known as the automatic coupling system.
The automatic coupling system comprises four main components:

1. Skid Plate: This part connects to the pump and slides on the base.
2. Base Plate: Installed in the sump, it supports the skid plate and the pump.
3. Fixing Base: Mounted at the upper end of the sump, it secures the base plate.
4. Guide Rail: Guides the pump into position and allows for easy lifting out of the sump for maintenance.

The entire system, including the automatic coupling device, is widely used for submersible pumps and submersible slurry pumps. The basic components of the self-coupling device include the base plate, support brackets, support blocks (columns), and sealing gaskets. Optional accessories may include guide rods, bolts, and other components.
